Slackline-esitys (kello 17-19)

Slackline on eräänlainen nuorallakävelyn muoto, joka on lajina levinnyt viime vuosina varsin laajalti. Tällä kertaa tapahtumapaikkana on yliopiston kirjaston atrium eli nämä akrobaatit taiteilevat ihmisten päiden yläpuolella! Luvassa mahdollisesti myös slackline-työpajaa.

IN ENGLISH:

Slacklining is a fun sports where we try to balance and walk on a tensioned piece of webbing (”flat rope”). It is different from tight rope (e.g.) walking because our webbing is flat, a lot more dynamic and less tensioned then a tight rope. Slackling can be practiced almost everywhere and there are numerous different disciplines such as longline, trickline and highline. A highline is a slackline that is attached high above the ground between mountains, cliffs, buildings,… or in this case in the atrium of the library. While highlining we attach ourselves to the line with a leash, making it a very safe yet mental endeavor.

Between 17:00 and 19:00 you will be able to witness how we challenge our balance and try to cross a highline in the University library. If the circumstances allow it you will also be able to try some slacklining yourself outside, in the area of the library at ground level.
